Who We Are
We are a collaborative partnership between Teesside University, Makerere University, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, and NHS North-East and North Cumbria ICB.
Our project aims to strengthen the capacity of frontline healthcare professionals to recognise NCD multi-morbidity in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, Uganda.
Our Work In Brief
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are predicted to be the leading cause of death in Africa by 2030. Many patients present with NCD multimorbidities which often go unrecognised, particularly at the lower tiers of healthcare in Uganda. Our project addresses this critical issue by building capacity among frontline healthcare practitioners to recognise and manage NCD multimorbidity at the earliest opportunity.
Our Mission
To improve early diagnosis and management of NCD multimorbidity in Uganda by enhancing the knowledge and skills of frontline healthcare professionals.
Our Vision
A healthcare system in Uganda where NCD multimorbidity is recognised early, leading to improved patient outcomes and reduced burden of NCDs.
